Our Story
A premium hotel and entertainment destination in the heart of Hamilton, New Zealand.
Coromandel Club was established with a simple idea: that a hotel in Hamilton could offer something beyond the ordinary — a place where refined accommodation, good food, and considered entertainment come together under one roof, without pretension.
Named for the Coromandel Peninsula — the coastline that draws visitors from across New Zealand and beyond — the club brings a sense of that unhurried, considered quality to the heart of the Waikato region. It is a place for business travellers, couples, event-goers, and anyone who appreciates a well-run hotel.
The hotel combines 48 rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant and bar, flexible event spaces, and an adults-only casino entertainment hall — all designed in a warm, art-deco-inspired aesthetic that feels distinctive without being theatrical.
We believe good hospitality is felt rather than announced. Our staff are trained to anticipate rather than react, to be present without being intrusive, and to treat every guest — whether they are staying in the Classic Room or the Chairman's Suite — with the same level of genuine care.
The kitchen works with local Waikato producers wherever possible. The rooms are designed for comfort and quiet. The casino hall operates under strict New Zealand regulations and a commitment to responsible gambling. Everything is intended to work simply, cleanly, and well.
Hamilton is the fourth-largest city in New Zealand and the commercial hub of the Waikato region. It sits on the banks of the Waikato River, approximately 90 minutes south of Auckland, and is well-connected by road and domestic flights.
The city offers Hamilton Gardens, Waikato Museum, a growing dining scene, and easy access to the Coromandel Peninsula, Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, and the surf beaches of Raglan. For business visitors, the city is home to the University of Waikato, Waikato Hospital, and a range of corporate and agricultural industries.
Coromandel Club is located on Hood Street, in the heart of the city centre — within walking distance of restaurants, retail, and the Waikato River trails.
